Pilates is a body conditioning routine that can help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It focuses on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing strong core muscles.

An increasing number of studies show the benefits of Pilates. It is useful for improving balance, back stability and flexibility, lower back pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Because of these benefits, and its inherent gentleness, it is the ideal exercise for pregnancy and the postnatal period.

Henley Birthcare offers midwife-led Pilates one-to-one, or, if you prefer, in a small class setting.

Antenatal and postnatal pilates classes are available on a weekly basis, alternatively, one-to-one sessions can be arranged in your own home and at a time to suit your needs.

Each session comprises Pilates, pelvic floor exercises and relaxation, for either pregnancy and birth preparation or postnatal recovery and health.

Time is always included for pregnancy education or just a chat over a coffee! The sessions aim to be fun and informative, as well as promote health and well being.
