Pilates is a body conditioning exercise that can help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the abdominals, pelvis, arms, legs and back. It focuses on spinal and pelvic alignment, developing strong core muscles and strengthening the pelvic floor.

An increasing number of studies show the benefits of Pilates in pregnancy and the postnatal period. It is useful for improving back stability and flexibility, lower back pain, pelvic girdle pain and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Henley Birthcare offers midwife-led Pilates based exercise either one-to-one in your own home, or in a small class setting.

Each session comprises of Pilates based exercise, pelvic floor and relaxation for pregnancy and birth preparation or postnatal recovery and general health.

There is always time to ask questions about your pregnancy, birth or baby, or just have a chat over a coffee!

The sessions aim to be fun and informative, as well as promote health and well being.
