It was an amazingly quick labour, especially for a first baby! I’m absolutely sure that the Pilates contributed to that in lots of ways.
I think it definitely made me more comfortable and agile during pregnancy. It helped me to stay relaxed as well. I sent a lot of time on the ball and doing pelvic tilts during the early stages of labour too, which meant I managed to labour at home for a long time.
Then once the baby was born, I remembered you told us to get back to doing pelvic floor exercises as soon as possible so I did 2 sets of 10 quick squeezes in the 18 hours we were at Wallingford post-labour.
